Go Hug-a-Tree
I guess we are officially tree-huggers now. Today we bought a Prius! We love our new “green” car. Of course the Hybrid technology and 55+ mpg influenced us, but what really sealed the deal were the awesome features like the navigation system and blue tooth… yeah, we are suckers for cool gadgets! The biggest push to get the Prius had to be that last week, our mechanic told us that our 1994 Pontiac Grand Am had seen better days and was going to cost waaay more than it was worth to fix. Yippee for our first grown-up car purchase 🙂 A new car! Jen ♥’s her Prius Of course, Kenny…

Kern Valley Airport Camping
Kenny didn’t have to work last weekend, so we decided to pick up last minute and fly to Kern Valley Airport for a quick camping getaway. The airport has a little camping area on the field and is just yards away from the Kern River. The 2 hour flight was uneventful and Pilot did just fine… although he never left our laps! A few minutes after we landed, David, Jamie & Jeffrey showed up and we went into town for a great lunch at Los Juacalitos- a local Mexican food restaurant with a fun name to pronounce (at least to me & Jamie… Juacalitos!) After lunch, we did a few…

I pay my hairdresser in tacos…
… actually, 3 rolled tacos, rice & beans… On Monday Tonita offered to help me rid my head of what was quickly becoming… can I even say it… a… gasp… MULLET! Thanks to the wonderful lady (note the sarcasm) who gave me my trademarked Peter Pan look the last time I went to the salon, my hair has been having much difficulty growing out. At the time I thought that bad haircuts were no big deal and that they would just grow out back to normal. Wrong. No one told me that the hardest part of a bad haircut is growing it out and having different stages of bad hair.…

Big Boring Blog
Nothing really exciting has been going on lately… well nothing blog-worthy, that is. There have been a whole bunch of semi-interesting things that individually are fairly boring, but I thought if made one giant post filled with our goings on then maybe… just maybe everyone won’t be bored to tears! Here are the happenings in our life for last few weeks… in no particular order… Most of you know we take Tae Kwon Do on Tuesdays and Fridays. The great thing about doing Tae Kwon Do is that we get to kick each other… all married people should get this opportunity! We also volunteer to help teach the beginner’s class…

Happy New Year!
Last weekend we decided to celebrate the New Year by doing something Kenny had never done in his many years of living in So Cal… We went and saw the Rose Parade floats in Pasadena! (Check off 1 on his 30 before 30) We had considered volunteering to work on the floats, but after what we saw on Saturday, we now know better. That is a TON of work! We will just look at the floats and enjoy them, thank you very much. We were amazed at the time that goes into making these floats so detailed… not to mention the money (most floats cost about $300,000)… all for just…

Happy Thanksgiving!
Kenny was supposed to fly the King Air today leaving Jen all alone for the holiday. Thankfully last night he got a call saying that he only had to fly one leg of the flight and not until 5:00pm! Yippee!!! So, last night we ran to the store at 9:00 and bought a $5.00 turkey and a few other items. Today, we had a great last minute feast with a yummy turkey, ham, Stovetop stuffing, instant potatoes and a pumpkin cobbler! We tried to give Pilot the giblets, but he wouldn’t go near them. He did, however, really, really like the turkey! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We are thankful for…

Disneyland!
We went to Disneyland with the whole family last week to celebrate many things (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthdays), but mostly just to hang out and have a good time. There were 10 of us there and we had a blast- Kenny & Jen, Doug & Terry (Kenny’s parents), Jim & Jolene (Jen’s parents), Eric & Sheree, and David & Jamie even though their soon-to-be little boy Jeffrey’s birthday was only a few weeks away! Jamie did great at 33 weeks pregnant. She is my hero! We had such a good time a the Happiest Place on Earth. Check out our pictures…

600th Geocache
We went Geocaching this weekend and got our 600th find! Yeah for us!!! We did 18 Geocaches on Sunday afternoon… easily surpassing Eric & Sheree. Ha Ha! Here is Kenny at one of our favorite caches of the day. Nice Hippo, huh? 😉

Halloween at The Office
Tuesday night didn’t bring out the ghouls and ghosts, it brought out Pam and Angela! For those of you who don’t know, Pam Beesly and Angela Martin are characters from one of our favorite shows… The Office. Tonita and Jen decided to dress up as two of the Office girls since they had to work at their respective offices that day anyway. We really *are* dressed up!!! That night, Tonita made an amazing assortment of food and we had a great time eating, watching a movie and eating some more! Overall, a fun Halloween was had by all!

Nightmare Before Christmas 3D
That’s right- 3D! Last night we went and saw Nightmare Before Christmas with Danny & Tonita and Eric & Sheree after work. The movie was only released in selected theaters and is only out for a few weeks, so go see it if you can. The best part about the movie, besides the brilliance of Tim Burton and Danny Elfman, were the awesome 3-D glasses we got to wear! Aren’t we cool??? After the movie we headed to Pick up Stix to get some food since we had rushed to the movie without grabbing dinner. We ordered and sat down. The little high school- maybe college kid who brought us…
